Concerning The Squad Rush Match Saturday the 30th.

Work has been busy so I have not had the time to get on X-box live much at all this week. While this is short notice ( I apoligize for this.), who is avaliable to practice Friday, April 30th for this squad rush? There are a few available already, but would like for everyone to touch base just to be sure. Here are just a few points I would like to remind everyone involved of.

  1. The Objectives CAN be destroyed with C4 like they used to be in regular rush. That was not changed.

  2. We only have 20 "tickets" to get the objective.

  3. Work as a team.

During practice, we should try both using the C4, and setting the objective during assault. But the most important aspect will be DEFENDING against the C4 attack. This will be tricky, but with good defensive postioning and disipline we should nail it. These guys go under the clan name of knife, so expect them to try to do such. Plan for a stealth attack intially. Dont let it happen and perhaps we will throw off there game. I'm thinking in terms of deffense teaming up and doing a two and two buddy system. Each member will have a "Buddy" that they keep tabs on at all times, so if someone does get knifed, we know there location and can react accordingly.

PRACTICE FOR THE MAY 7th MATCH!

Lets set up Practice for the May 7th Match for this Saturday, and to all who can attend, again next Friday. I think its safe to say that Everyone wants a WIN! So, lets get some good practice in. Do we know the Maps? If not, we need to find out A.S.A.P. Steeler you set a time for Saturday, and lets get some quality time in. Remember, listen to your Squad Leaders. Squad Leaders, lead your people. Shadow Mosez and Steeler, come up with a strategy and lets roll with it. As for who to practice against..contact Mendez and see if he can come up with some friends along with some of our own to practice against. Grendal, Brad, Mercury, and Monty will be tied up with our match Saturday, so we wont be avaliable to practice against. Next Friday though, some of us will be ready.

Twelve on Twelve. Squad Format. Got an idea.

The problems of communication that rise from having a full team have always had me searching for a solution. Well, perhaps I might of came up with a solution. I would appreciate everyones input on this. We have tried another clans method, and it didnt quite fit us right. Well, what if we basically split that third squad and did two parties of six? Not only for communication, but if each squad took two members from the third squad. While spawning would be an issue, that could be worked out by having those two members act in roles that dont have them acting as point in a full out assault. On defense, each six man squad could devote a member from that third squad as an Intel agent, be it through the scope of a sniper rifle or through use of the UAV (A tool that I dont think we exploit. It has GREAT recon value, with limited attack value..a point I'll come back to.) This way each squad gets information on what the enemy is doing. The Intel person if a sniper would try to find a spot that affords him coverage of an M-com station, and can give intel on enemy movement. The other squads UAV operator would for the most part observe movement and inform his squad of dangers. Using only the attack aspect if it can eliminate the immediate danger to the m-com. If it gets more heat than the sniper or UAV operator can handle, the second member of the diveded squad comes into play. He should be the back-up protector. Someone that has eyes on the M-com at all times and is concealed enough to give the element of surprise. If 3 people have eyes on the station (I dont mean on top of it, but withing 50 yards unless your a sniper) that will allow the other 3 people of each squad to cover the flanks and afford them mobility. This is all based upon Teamwork, Patience and Discipline of course. When one station goes down, the 3 people from the destroyed station just join the others with eyes, while the remaining gaurd the flanks. In a nut shell, two 6 man squads, each with its own communication party (This will cut out confusing cross-line communications), 3 eyes on, and 3 guarding flanks.

PRACTICE makes perfect!

Ryan brought up a great point that I have been thinking about for a while now. This post doesn't apply to some of you because you play a lot anyway. I talked with Mercury about this today and he agreed with me on this. We NEED to practice together as a team/squad more often outside of Friday nights. So if we have a match on a Saturday and you're playing in it, I'm thinking about making it a rule that you need to get on SOME time during the week (at least once at minimum) and play with either Shadow, Steeler, or Mercury to keep updated on what we're planning for that match. I know that everyone has different schedules and shit comes up with work and life. I understand this, but a big reason why we lack in certain areas is a lack of practice as a group. I know that Shadow's squad plays together all the time so they are used to each other's style of play, but our other squads rarely play together outside of a Friday night. Shadow and I are on almost every single day so we can practice or tell you about our strategy for the match. If for some reason, you can't get on during the week of a match, we have this website. So feel free to start a post asking what is expected of you, how we are running, etc. If we want to start winning more of these matches and improving the way we play, we have GOT to start practicing more often. Do you guys agree?

AMG Participation

What do you guys think about having a 30-day limit for non-participating members? Meaning, if we can see you are online playing another game and don't check in or join any of our games in a month's time, we are free to remove you. I understand that things come up and that's fine. But there are a few members that either never get on at all or never join us anymore. Why keep them as members? Let me know what you guys think. Do you think that's a pretty reasonable amount of time? I think if they never talk to anyone or join our games, it's pretty obvious they don't really care about being a member of AMG.

Lets get Everyone AMG on-board with the Site.

Grendal (Tango, Shaun) was kind enough to donate his free time to create a site dedicated to AMG. I know that Shadow Mosez and Steelerfan have both contributed a lot also, not just to this site but to AMG. With that being said, lets push to get as many members on this site as possible. Once again, this is a valuable tool. Lets utilize it to the fullest. If I recall correctly, we have no Amish members so there is no real reason to Not sign up. During the week its hard to find the time to get on X-box live, which is the case for me as it is with others. I understand this, that would be why we dont have Practice, and clan matches on the weekdays. Even a prisioner can find time to get on the internet for a couple of minutes every other day so there are few excuses. It would really help build a better team having everyone on this site. They would get current news, and be able to voice there opinion on matters. It would only benefit them (the AMG members) to join this site. One last point....MENDEZ even took the time to find the site and POST, HE IS FROM ANOTHER CLAN!!!! Prospects Took The Time to Find The Site and Post.

12 min Battlefield 3 Trailer.

Perhaps I'm a little late on this one, but the newest Faultline trailer is a must watch for any Battlefield enthusiast. Before clicking the play button grab some popcorn and a large fountain soda for this action filled segment is over 12 minutes long. Comprised mostly of the first 3 episodes it contains bits that were previously cut out and seams them all together to form the mother of all video game trailers. During this pulse-pounding mini-movie the stage for the story begins to flesh out as does the reason for the "Faultline" name. Given the nature of the game, I have to admit with a feeling of guilt that the first thing noticed was the beauty of it. While war is far from such, Battlefield represents it with a form of technologicaly induced irony . Everything from the loose dust blowing down open streets, steam shooting out of pierced pipes, spent bullet casings raining down from the Kiowa ( Well, I believe it to be a Kiowa, could be wrong), to the racks of meat swaying in the market place combine to create a belivable living breathing world. If you thought the sounds of battle were impressive in Battlefield Bad Company 2, just wait to get an earfull of what Battlefield 3 offers. The Roar from the Kiowa's vulcans as they spew rounds, the distinct and horrible buzz of a russian designed RPG as it rips through the air. Those alone are enough to send shivers down ones spine. They did mine. The setting; modern day Iraq. To be more specific, the border between Iraq and Iran. The best way to describe this trailer is that after it was over, I was speechless. I immediatley watched it again. It left this viewer wanting more, and wanting it SOON!

Member and Recruit List (side note)

Clicking on any name from either list should direct you to their stats.  If anyone finds theirs does not work please let me know.

AMG Roster. A bit confused.

It just so happened I glanced at the roster on the left side of our site and was at first surprised we had that many people. Then I started reading the members names. At that point I realized that about a quarter of the people on that list are people I dont even know (nor can I recall playing with ever) or people we turned down for one reason or another. We need to be all on the same page when it comes to AMG, especially who is a member and who is not (These members are a reflection on all of us dont forget). For decency sake I will not call out the names of the ones listed. Prospects either need there own list or not be listed on the roster. Perhaps I'm coming off a little on the harsh/crass side, but AMG is important to me.

Let Me Know What Yall Think Of The Banners

Thoughts on Squad Structure. Lets Brainstorm.

All members have a competitive bone in there body, otherwise we wouldnt really care one way or the other if we win or loose. Correct? I must admit that I am extremely competitive. While having fun with a group of friends that you can kick back and enjoy a few laughs and headshots with is great; when the competition starts I want to win. We have a lot of talent. No denying that. Our goal though should be to figure out how to harness this talent by identifying our members strenghts and weakness and moulding our squads and teams from there. We should set members up for success, never for failure. So to keep this short, I have an idea I would like to bounce off of everyone. I'm thinking dedicated squads. I suggest that every squad leader finds members they are compatable with. I'm not talking E-harmony kind of compatable, we arent all going to be taking long walks on the beaches and petting puppies together. But find members that with a little practice can read and know our next move even without verbal communication. I would love to see each squad "Click" and work like a finely tuned V8 (Swiss Watch, machine, you get my point). Does this make sense? I think that if we practice and compete with the same squads we will build such a stronger team. While there are some non-linear issues such as fill-ins/back-ups/ and replacements to consider this should not be that much of an issue. While most of us are flexible in our classes each squad should set up for each members strengths. We dont want all our best medics on one squad for example. Anyway, I've went on long enough I suppose. Give some feedback. Sincerely Damien aka..Mercury.
