Adding Structure to AMG and creating some Positions.
Any successfull orginzation needs structure. Be it a Military unit, large corporation, or a sports team, all of these have a structure that promote success and growth. Without it, failure is immenent. Some groups will manage to last longer than others, but in the end it all comes down to the same result. AMG is growing, while it has been at a controlled pace, we are growing. So to succedd as a team of Ass-kicking gamers it only makes sense to expand our structure. ShadowMosez, Steelerfan, and myself are listed as team captains. At the time of this posting, Captain equals Squad leader. This is something I would like to change. Believe it or not a lot of time and effort goes into what we as captains do and at times balancing out AMG requirements and Life is difficult. So what I propose is to give each Captain duties unique to there abilities and intrests, and create the rank of Squad Leader. While Captians would still have the option of Leading a squad if they desire this would give other members the oppurtunity to accept the challenge of leading 3 others into battle. Think of squad leaders as the NCOs, or if your not familar with the term NCO think the Ol' sarge from war movies. So, what does everyone think? Let me know.

I agree with you 100%. When we run with 12 guys, we are going to need another squad leader that isn't afraid to give orders and communicate with the other squad leaders. This is definitely going to apply if I run with Shadow and BALDJUAN on a regular basis. I would take over the squad leader position for that squad, leaving us with an open leader position. Like Mercury said, we as captains all have different strengths and weaknesses. We all have something to bring to the table and now is the time to make everyone's different talents payoff. The new squad leader can't be afraid to be the prick and give orders where they see fit. I know that I'm an ass at times but I think that is what it sometimes takes to get everyone to run together. Plus that's just part of being a squad leader. Remember you are leading these guys to win and leaders need to give direction.
ReplyDeleteI vote for Tango. He makes a lot of sense when in battle. Today he positioned a squad and kept us going in the right direction and that gave me (Johnny Rotten) , taters, boo and virtu a some real good wins.
ReplyDeletePlease do excuse me that Tango but you deserve credit and I will squad with you anytime (even tho I do luv Steeler and wud run in his squad xx lol)
Rotten
I agree totally
ReplyDeleteI also second tango..... he a good leader and i think tater be good too
ReplyDeleteIf need be for the most the times i be working during the matches i lead some guys on a practice squad
ReplyDeleteWe definitely will welcome any volunteers that are interested in being a squad leader. Anyone that is seriously interested will be expected to tryout and lead at least two of our captains on their squad. It's one thing to be a good communicator; it's a totally different thing to use strategy and be able to lead your own squad. If interested, just contact one of the captains or post on here. Then we can go from there and set up a day for tryouts. (if our other captains agree with this)
ReplyDeleteOnce we iron out the details on the Tryouts I will create a seperate post with the requirements and details. On that post anyone interested can post for the tryout. At this time I'm thinking 3 Squad Leader positions, but that may be subject to change. I'm also liking the idea of a Practice/Training Squad Leader and Captain that Maximum brought up. Good stuff. Corey mentioned something similar also.
ReplyDeleteWell thanks for the multiple votes of confidence. I'll give the thought of applying some thought.
ReplyDeleteOn a side note, to the current captains, have you considered a "time frame" that one has to be with AMG before they apply a thought? The only reason I ask is I would think one would have to show he's in AMG for the long haul before they can be considered a "lead." maybe something like one has to be with AMG for 6 months before they can apply.
Just my thoughts.

I agree tango. i dont feel it be good to give a new guy the job of leading if we have no idea on there time frame with amg
ReplyDeleteand oh yea D the training squad leader can be a way to finding new captains as well... just a thought
ReplyDeleteYou all have brought up some good suggestions. Though the details will take a little time to flesh out, I would like to hold off until these next few matches are under our belt. After all the currently scheduled matches are clear we can implement a new system, get some time to do Try-Outs (I guess that would be the proper term)and get some practice under our belt before we go taking BIG challenges in Clan Battles. Once we get things set perhaps we should revisit some of the prior battled clans as a benchmark. As for details concerning seniority and Practice/Training teams for new recruits, this is something we are considering and working on.
