After the Renegade Battle, lets focus on Restructure.
While the term "Restructure" with most companies means people becoming unemployed, layed-off, promoted or demoted, that is NOT the case here. After the battle set for this weekend, I would like to focus on defining the positions of Captains, and Squad Leaders. Then start the proccess of posting the requirements and taking volunteers for Squad Leaders. While there will be a series of Try-Outs, the details are still being worked out. Also, lets try to implement some of the ideas that we have thought of. We should try diffrent recomendations and see what works, and what doesnt.

I agree that we need to restructure a little bit. We do need some squad leaders that can be reliable. Let's not OVER complicate things. Sometimes less is more. We are only 25 people or so we will be picky when choosing a new squad leader. We as Captains have already talked about what we want to do with our responsibilities. I suggest taking a week or two off from the private matches so we can regroup, have tryouts and also see some propects to hopefully fill Artist's position. For those that don't know ArtistinWar is no longer a member of AMG due to personal reasons. He was a really good player so filling his shoes won't be easy.
ReplyDeleteIf you guys are taking suggestions I'd like to offer this, for recruits or prospects, how about they use lower case "amg" until they are full members, then they can switch to the caps AMG tag.

ReplyDeleteIn the process of revamping AMG, could we please find a way to do future matches? It seems like the last 3 matches have had the same AMGers in it. Now if we are going to expand AMG that should also mean allowing people other than Shadow, Johnny, Bald, Taters, Steeler and Merc be the only ones to play in matches.
Also, Who ever is in charge of setting these thing up PLEASE be on the ball as to the match types and rosters. If we agree to an 8 on 8 on Sat, and on Friday they say "well we can only find 6," that should be tough shit. They agreed to 8, if they can't get 8 then thats a forefit for them. The same goes for us, If we agree to 8 on 8 then there should be no reason we still don't know our own roster come Friday. If we want to be one of thee best clans out there WH HAVE TO START ACTING LIKE IT.

I understand your frustration, and this is why many if not all want 12 on 12 matches. Reasons being, so we can include more members that are just as deserving a spot. While there are more reasons, This one is on top of the list. I also agree with the forfiet clause. While I know it was not intentional, I do feel somewhat cheated by what transpired Saturday night. Now part of the restructure is to overcome our defecencies, and this proccess is open to suggestions. So if someone has a great idea, please do tell. If you have a great idea, and dont tell us, how are we to know or implement it?
ReplyDeleteCorey does spend a lot of time finding, researching and contacting other clans. Unfortunatley many either are really unorganized, or dont have enough players avaliable. And yes, in the future we will do better on posting the roster. That was no fault of Shadow Mosez. I take responsibilty for that error.
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm going to go to bat for Shadow on this one. He had his shit together really well with setting up these matches, including this one. Messages were sent out earlier in the week to all the AMG people that were picked to play in the match. The three captains all come to an agreement on who is going to play in the match. I know in the past it was up to each captain to pick his own squad, but now we all have to agree on the people chosen since we aren't doing any 12 vs 12 matches. In the past two private matches, AMG was ready to go ON TIME. The other clans were the ones that weren't organized. I think from now on, if the clan we are playing doesn't have the right amount of people, then it should be a forfeit and an instant victory for us. As far as Steeler, Mercury, and Shadow playing in every match, we are going to play in all the matches because we are the captains. From now on we should post the roster public on the site so everyone can see it instead of sending out individual messages. That way there isn't any question marks. This past match we had a captain's meeting on Tuesday and that is when we came up with the roster.
ReplyDeleteUm I havent been in loads of matches, infact 2 is the correct amount and they both renegade matches. I stayed clear of the most matches coz being a Brit its tiring being up at that of morning and to play good.
ReplyDeleteBut I think that a match should be posted on here and who ever wants to join the captains should post their call for duty and the first geezers who post get in.
That way its down to the individual to get in a match.

A suggestion to us is to post the competition at least 2 weeks a head of time. Open sign up, list those avaliable, then by the end of that week, list the roster including back-ups. So there will be a week to practice and fine tune with the squads. I think this is what we orginally intended to do, but due to the nature of the last couple of matches, this system has broken down. The last renegade battle was my fault due to "Over-booking". I wanted to be prepared incase they had more players, but I Horribly over shot.
ReplyDeleteI have re/read tangos post and it does make sense. But best of all he does have the best point to make with AMG moving forward to being a front running clan. Mercury then also makes some good directional points.

Well, we are a relatively new "Clan" that has shifted our goals towards a competetion oriented group. So, like any other orginazation there will be bumps in the road and "growing pains" experienced. Since there is no set guide lines or rule book (If there is I have not read them) this is trial and error for Mercury, Steelerfan, and Shadow Mosez. I for one have never been in a clan, let alone help run one before. I'm just trying to implement and utilize what experience I have from managing, and knowledge of the military.
ReplyDeleteMercury, there was no mistake with posting the match ahead of time. If you look at the post of the match, it was made on May 2nd, and the match was May 14th. That is almost two weeks ahead of time. We as Captains came up with the rule that all three of us would come up with the roster for private matches. We have NEVER BEEN a first come, first serve clan. We choose our squads based on who are the best players and also who plays well together. Both are taken under consideration. For example, me and Mercury on a squad together doesn't make any sense. We both die too much and are counter productive. I don't know where this first come, first serve stuff came from. If we make a list for people to sign up, thats fine so that we know who can play and who can't. However, not all of the members use this site including some very good players. So posting the roser online wouldn't do much good since many of our members still aren't on here. If we want to be a good clan then we have to run with the best and everyone knows that, but its just hard to get everyone in when its 8 on 8. It's not like Shadow is purposely scheduling 8 on 8 matches. He is trying to get 12 on 12 and the other clans aren't interested. (they only want 8 on 8 matches) Yes I agree we are a young clan and need to work on things. You know being a manager isn't always fun. You have to make tough decisions day in and day out and AMG is no exception. We as captains CHOOSE who we want to play in the matches and thats something that all three of us agreed on. Unless we change things in the future, then the captains still make the rosters; not who is first to sign up. Maybe we need to get together and try to streamline things and try to work out out these kinks.
ReplyDeleteLOL Steeler, When were on the same squad it does become a race to see who croaks the most. Usually I win. Dont know why that is, but if you put certain combinations together, even of great players..the tickets go flying away.
