First map: Cold War - LOSS (both attacking & defending)
Second map: Atacama Desert - TIE (lost attacking, won defending)
Final map: Valparaiso - TIE (lost attacking, won defending)
The match resulted in a LOSS.
I wish I had better news to post but last night's match was an embarrassment in my opinion. There was a complete lack of teamwork and WAY too many individual efforts. We aren't playing together as a team and it shows. When we were defending, I felt like WAY too many people were out looking for the kill instead of keeping their eyes on the MCOMs. I know this isn't the most exciting task in the world but it needs to be done. When too many people stray away from the MCOMs, it leaves us wide open for chaos. When we were attacking, there was very little teamwork. Instead of running in a coordinated group, we ran in small, ineffective groups and got annihilated. There were also WAY too many people holding back trying to get a kill rather than rushing the box and getting as many people near the MCOMs as possible. I KNOW we are better than this. We play better during a hee-haw practice than we did last night!!!!
These are just some of my personal observations. I want anyone that reads this to contribute their thoughts and ideas. What did you think was the problem? We don't need any finger pointing but I do want everyone to voice their opinion. We aren't going to get better if we don't find and FIX these issues.
**ON A SIDE NOTE - THIS APPLIES TO EVERYONE - Once again, we had issues with people signing on late. We ask you to get online at LEAST 30 minutes prior to the match for a reason. When you get on late, it puts the whole team in a bind. If something comes up and you can't make it to the match on time, PLEASE contact one of the captains. We gave everyone plenty of advance notice so this really shouldn't have been an issue.**
I honestly think Charlie sqd did our job. We wernt perfect but on the destructible MCOMS we made them use quite a few tickets. On Assault, we had guys behind the lines and even took 2 stations.
ReplyDeleteLike I said, we wernt perfect but we wernt horrible.

Wow, we played so diffrently than nights and matches prior. This is no excuse, but I can that Saturday night was not a true example of how we fight.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, what hurt us was we over complicated our game plan. Especially on offense. Split up our squads to early and basically made our game plan into what it is we try to avoid most, 4 man waves vs 12 enemies. If you look at it, we actually played the small maps as if they were the large ones. Tried to do manuevers where there is almost no room to manuever and all enemies can bare there guns down on us. Which They did. In my opinion, it wasnt any one squad as much as it was how we ran. We didnt run on offense as a whole team like we usually do.

One thing I did notice, and this is a positive, perhaps the only positive out of the match. If you notice, its usually our offense that wins the round for us, or at least brings us to a tie. This time was diffrent. It was our deffense that held us from being shut out. There were several times we gave them boxes, but others they fought down to 20 points or less, more so than usual. So to me that says we need to work on our offense( Which wont be difficult, just dont over complicate and run like we do as a WHOLE team) and Tweak our Deffense (which goes back to PATIENCE...we did have to many wanderers). And think of deffense as Map specific, and not a general plan. I dont want to post to into detail because we do have other eyes..Which was a mistake I made, posting to much info in prior posts.

Damn...A third post in the same thread..No I dont like hearing myself type. But Steeler did have a good point. We did have to many staying back on offense. That didnt help. I know it was several members first time in a competition, but we cant hold back/stay back on offense.
ReplyDeleteOnce again.

Hand heart I agree with Mercury with all his posts, I am glad he posted all these comments as it shows his passion for the clan. I basicly thought we played shite with little thought of regard for BUG clan. We knew they had a good team when attacking but their defense is their weak point but we didnt seize the gaps they left open. I believe that we ALL were over eager to get into defence area and forgot that we firstly needed to HAMMER the shit out of them before we just walked in and armed the crates.
ReplyDeleteI am personally gutted with my own performance as I felt I had not been the flipping geezer giving the right support to my fellow clan mates.
so lets look upon this as a learnig curve, they won one fooooking map, big deal.
Mr Rotten
Yes, Lets take this as a learning experience. Of course one that cost us, but still none the less a learning experience. To me, it is clear that on offense we found our mark, or groove, and Saturday we messed with it and nuetralized our best/strongest aspect. We ran great Friday night, and even impressed several renegades (Which thank you for being there for that) but changed the tempo up Saturday. We went from AC/DC's Hells Bells or Highway to Hell, (of even a House of Pain "Jump") to a John Tesh Christmas CD. Forgive the musical analogy, but you know what I mean.
ReplyDeleteI see room to improve.... but in my mind no matter how good we get there well always be room to improve
ReplyDeleteWell have to admit we did play sh*t to be honest, we play better when we're just doing our own thing, look how we play when we're not in a match, we always kick ass then, I've been in a few Clans and there team work is all about communication and strategy, we need to practice on advancing and defence using what means we have at the right time, when you kill some one you have a 12 second window of opportunity before they re-spawn, practice sessions should be about learning to fly choppers and taking them down and finding new ways to get from one point to another, trying to hit fast moving targets, the practice sessions we have aren't practice sessions, we just play as its a normal game, I know some can't get online as much as others so they don't get much chance to practice or play and they do need to practice. iRavenSkyler
